SYNOPSIS

The scientific base, Dôme C, stands out in the middle of the harshest and most unfriendly desert of the world in the Antarctic. It can only be reached after crossing the ice floe and the 1200 km inland, on board the imposing polar trucks which convey food and assistance to the Base. 30 people or so live there 2 months a year during the Austral summer, when the sun shines 24 hours a day, with temperatures below -30°C.Sharing their daily lives in extreme climatic conditions and learning about the new scientific investigations being conducted, this film reveals the impact of those researches on our understanding of the climate.
