SYNOPSIS

It’s one of the most beautiful townhouse « hôtel particulier » of Paris in 18’s century, embodying the neoclassicism. Despite its artistic significance, the historic monument was demolished in 1923, though the interiors were saved for more than a century. Be witness to the rebirth of these masterpieces from the most celebrated artists of Europe, who also work for the Château de Versailles.

Witness of an aristocratic eighteenth century, it was once considered one of the most beautiful Parisian “hôtel particulier” and embodied a new style – neoclassicism. Despite its prestige, the Hôtel d’Argenson also known as the Hôtel de la Chancellerie d’Orleans, was entirely demolished in 1923, with the exception of its superb decors, preserved in pieces in storage for over a century. These features reflect the quality and refinement of the interior of the French hôtel particulier. Take part in the rebirth of a true masterpiece of French Art Décoratif, bearing the stamp of France’s most celebrated artists of the Age of Enlightenment, most of which also worked at Versailles.
