SYNOPSIS
Une équipe de spécialistes est mobilisée avant la construction d'un barrage sur le cours de l'Euphrate, sur le point d'engloutir les vestiges de la cité antique de Zeugma.
La construction d'un barrage sur le cours de l'Euphrate en Turquie, a entraîné la destruction d'une des villes les plus importantes de l'empire Romain. En juillet 2000, la Cité antique de Zeugma fut engloutie sous 40 mètres d'eau. Une équipe de spécialistes composée d'archéologues, d'épigraphes, de céramologues est mobilisée: une véritable course contre la montre s'engage alors pour sauver les vestiges de plusieurs siècles d'Histoire de la Mésopotamie.
