On September 8, 2014  the lifeless body of Jill Halliburton Su, great-niece of an oil tycoon and wife of a professor at the University of Florida, is found in her house located in a residential area of the town of Davie, near Fort Lauderdale, FL.

A few hours later,  Justin Su discovers his mother’s body in the bathtub. The young man is considered the number 1 suspect by the investigators before DNA is detected on a knife found on the crime scene.

The DNA matching tests lead to Dayonte Resiles - nicknamed Moochie - a 21-year-old African-American known to the police, for burglary, but with no record of violence.

The series takes us behind closed doors with the Defense Lawyers team as they try to avoid the death penalty for their client. On the way we meet the prosecutor convinced of Dayonte's guilt, and Dayonte’s girlfriend - Crystal - who, out of love, finds herself in prison... And at the heart of the case an ambivalent character, alternately charming or disturbing: Moochie, who claims his innocence and is ready to prove it by any means possible.

EP 1 - After the murder of Jill Halliburton, the police arrest a young black man nicknamed Moochie. However, the testimony of the victim's son raises many questions.

EP2 - Following Moochie's escape, the police organize a massive manhunt. At the same time, supporters of the fugitive amongst the black community make their voice heard.

EP3 - Crystal is arrested by the police and new charges are added to Moochie's file. These new elements cast doubt on his sincerity.

EP4 - The defense investigation reveals inconsistencies in the testimony of Nan-Yao, the victim's husband. Did he lie to the police? Could he be guilty of his wife's murder?

EP5 - Moochie's trial begins. Even if the defense's role is not to solve the case, they will have to prove Moochie's innocence. Do they have enough evidence to do so?
