THE POLICE STATION ON ALL FRONTS

The Police force is on all fronts and sometimes have to adapt to the extreme working conditions.

In order to deal with the increasing criminality on the Reunion Island whose population keeps growing, 800 policemen maintain the security of the citizens and tourists 24/7.

French Guiana is often considered as the French far-west. If we hear a lot about interventions against illegal gold panning and drug trafficking, we know less about other actions of the gendarmes mobilized in this overseas department located in South America. 

Southern Corsica triples its population in summer. Excess of alcohol causes conflict almost every night. The gendarmes must ensure safety around the nightclubs, intervene in private parties, and often stop the violence with force. And if the nights are restless, during the day, the tourists flock gives a hard time to the units too. Conflicts with locals, canyoning, hiking, climbing accidents never gives them a rest

For several weeks, we will follow the daily life of the various Police and Gendarme units engaged throughout the territory.
