This film celebrates the artistic richness that illuminated LOUIS XV's reign considered as "a moment of perfection of French art", through the eyes of emblematic women, wives and favorites, who surrounded the sovereign during his life: Marie Leszczynska, the Mailly-Nesle sisters, the Marquise de Pompadour and the Countess du Barry.
Female figures of the reign, they were passionate about the arts, and proved to be knowledgeable collectors and unfailing patrons. Thanks to their prominent position, they launched the careers of the most avant-garde artists. They provided pensions to the men of science and literature, brilliant and sometimes censored minds, of the Enlightenment.
