SYNOPSIS
For the first time, a Franco-Israeli scientific mission, led by archaeologist Israel Finkelstein and biblical scholar Thomas Römer, sets out to excavate the Kiriath-Jearim hill West of Jerusalem.
According to the Bible, the Ark of the Covenant, the sacred chest that contained the Tables of the Law, stayed there for 20 years before being transferred to Jerusalem and disappearing forever.
