SYNOPSIS

Between 2009, the year Brazil hosted the Olympic Games, and 2017, almost a decade has passed during which the fate of the country has shifted. After years of economical growth and regained confidence Brazil is falling apart. The Opera of Rio is threatened with closure as the iconic City is about to flounder. Prima ballerinas, the symphonic orchestra's musicians, stage hands and porters are no longer paid. The theatre is still a haven of beauty and grace surrounded by the violent confusion that reigns in the city. But for how much longer? What becomes of a city where art can no longer exist?

RESSACA won the International Emmy Award for best Arts Programming!
